Description
Green Tea Extract Capsule
Green, Black and Oolong – are three different types of tea produced from same plant Camellia sinensis using different processing methods. Fresh leaves from Camellia sinensis are steamed to produce Green Tea, while the leaves of Black tea and Oolong undergo fermentation.
Green Tea Leaves contain maximum antioxidants compared to other types of tea due to its processing method. The most powerful polyphenolic compound Catechin (antioxidant)is Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), which is abundant in Green Tea.
Antioxidants are substances that fight free radicals, damaging compounds produced in the body that change cells, damage DNA, and even cause cell death. Many scientists believe that free radicals contribute to the aging process, as well as the development of a number of health problems, including cancer and heart disease.
Green Tea also contains B vitamins, folate (naturally occurring folic acid), manganese, potassium, magnesium and caffeine but presence of high amount of Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG) may be one of the main reasons for Green Tea to have such powerful medicinal properties.
Green Tea benefits:
Good source of antioxidant.
Prevents symptoms of cold and flu.
Increases thermogenesis and fat oxidation.
May reduce the risk for various types of cancer.

CONCLUSIONS:
Green tea has thermogenic properties and promotes fat oxidation beyond that explained by its caffeine content per se. The green tea extract may play a role in the control of body composition via sympathetic activation of thermogenesis, fat oxidation, or both.

Abstract
This study evaluated the influence of a green tea catechin beverage on body composition and fat distribution in overweight and obese adults during exercise-induced weight loss. …….. These findings suggest that green tea catechin consumption enhances exercise-induced changes in abdominal fat and serum TG.

Abstract
Tea derived from the leaves and buds of Camellia sinensis (Theaceae) is consumed worldwide. Green tea contains various components with specific health-promoting effects, and is believed to exert protective effects against diseases including cancer, diabetes and hepatitis, as well as obesity. Of the various tea components, the polyphenol catechins have been the subject of extensive investigation and among the catechins, (-)-epigallocatechin gallate has the strongest bioactivity in most cases. ………………..When reactive oxygen species are assumed to be involved, our findings that (-)-epigallocatechin gallate down- regulated hepatocyte nuclear factor-4a, sterol regulatory element-binding proteins, and tumor necrosis factor-a may explain the anti-cancer effect of green tea as well.

Abstract
Epicatechin-3-gallate (ECG), which is a natural polyphenolic component of green tea, elicits several antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. However, the effects of ECG on cancer invasion and EMT of human lung carcinoma remain unknown. We ………………. Therefore, ECG may be used as an anti-cancer and anti-invasion agent for the adjuvant treatment and metastasis control of human lung cancer cells. ECG may also be administered as an effective chemopreventive agent against TGF-ß1-induced EMT.
